What we collect
When you use Notarials we collect the information needed to notarize your documents lawfully: your name, email address, identity verification data, the documents you upload, payment details (processed by our payment provider, never stored on our servers), and recordings and audit logs of notarization sessions where required by law.
How we use it
Your information is used to provide the notarization service: verifying your identity, conducting and recording the session, producing the notarized document, processing payment, and meeting legal record-keeping obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Session recordings and audit logs
Notary laws in many jurisdictions require us to retain recordings and journals of notarization sessions for a defined period. These records are stored encrypted and are accessible only to authorized personnel and to authorities where the law requires disclosure.
Sharing
We share data only with the providers needed to run the service (payment processing, video infrastructure, identity verification) under contractual confidentiality obligations, and with regulators or law enforcement where legally required.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal data. Note that notarial records subject to statutory retention cannot be deleted before the retention period expires. Submit requests through the support tools in your account or via our contact page.
Security
Documents and recordings are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is logged and limited to personnel who need it to operate the service.
